Shift of China Urban Policy

Although the global political situation is turbulent, EU and China cooperation on sustainable development and climate adaptation continues. After pandemic covid 19, there are more and delegations from China visiting Europe, in 2024 and 2025 we have received many groups from China central government (ministries), municipality & province level and research and design institutes in the field of urban development.

There is a shift of their visit interests on subjects, from design orientated to policy making, management and control, from urban spatial planning to land & natural resource balanced usage/development, especially on climate adaptation, urban regeneration and public participation in the planning and decision making. These changes are in line with which in worldwide.

It shows that China urbanization comes to a new era: fast growing is passed, now to think how to use the land more efficiently to deal the global challenge-climate change.
