Participation International Conference in Germany & visiting the Netherlands

A delegation from Shenzhen Urban Planning and Design Research Institute BV has visited the Netherlands and Germany in September 2017. The main goal was to exchange experience with Dutch colleagues on the following themes: public facilities and public space’s planning and design, mixed-use of land development and innovation business parks’ planning.

The delegation had visited The Hague and Amsterdam where they listened to presentation about Binckhorst and IJburg, given by senior urban planners. They had visited the locations as well. Furthermore, they had discussions about the municipality’s land policy.

Under the guidance of Ms. Bakker, senior urban planner of the municipality of Rotterdam, the delegation visited different locations such as Markthal, Maritime quarter and Roofpark which are good examples of mixed-use of land development projects.

Afterwards, the Shenzhen delegation traveled to Mannheim (Germany) to join an international conference  on “green mobility” where they shared their experience on slow traffic in urban development and planning.
