CCICED roundtable meeting hold in the Hague

The China Council for International Cooperation on Environment and Development (CCICED) was founded in 1992 as a high-level international advisory body, it serves as a platform for exchange on environment and development policies between China and the international communities, for promoting collaborative efforts to achieve ecological civilization, innovative and better governance system of the global environment. 

On 8 April 2019, a round table meeting has been taken place in the Hague to discuss how urbanisation processes and patterns might influence environmental improvement, in both China and elsewhere in the world. During these discussions, the Task Force on Green Urbanization and Environmental Improvementshowed preliminary results from its Special Policy Studies (SPSs). International experts from China, the Netherlands, Germany, Austria and Belgium have presented their research findings and case studies and reflected on the SPSs preliminary results, from the perspective of Chinese urban development towards 2035 and the key forces shaping it. 

Experts from China Academy of Urban Planning and Design Research Institute (CAUPD) have given impressive presentations about Yangtze River Economic zone Ecological Urban Development and New Xiong An City planning. The Chairman of the Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency (PBL), Mr.Mommaaschaired the meeting and gave a welcome speech. Mr.Xiaojiang Li, formal director of CAUPD thanked the hosting organization and gave important presentations concerning above themes.  

Ms.  Xiaocun Ruan from the East & West Urban Consultancy (EWUC) participated the roundtable meeting and accompanied the delegation visited the Rotterdam, Amsterdam and Utrecht Municipal government departments & related sustainable projects on April 9-10.
