Europe-China Urban Green Development Forum

On September 08-09, 2020, EC-Link Project organized the Europe-China Urban Green Development Forum as final forum of its long activity.

The Objective of this forum was to promote the EC-Link Project achievements from 2013 to 2020 and update the latest developments in the sector of Green Finance and Climate Resilient Cities in China and Europe. 

The event was hosted by the Department of Standards and Norms, Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development (MoHURD), supported by the Delegation of the European Union to China and the Department of International Trade and Economic Affairs, Ministry of Commerce (MoFCOM). More than 150 people from Europe and China attended the video conference. 

On 8 September, representatives from MoHURD & MoFCOM, EUD and GIZ have given speeches as official closing of the project. The significance of the project is that Europe and China worked together and learned from each other to achieve our common goal: bring co2 emission to neutral as soon as possible. 

During the second day (9 September), two sessions have been held, to present EC-Link results achieved by linking Chinese cities with Green Financing Resources and to deepen project contribution to Chinese sustainable urban development, pointing out knowledge products and guidelines elaborated through the cooperation between Chinese cities and EU experts. Furthermore, good examples of implementation in resilient city development in China pilot city (Zhuhai) has been shown.

As the key expert of sustainable urban planning, Ms. X.Ruan from East West Urban Consultancy has moderated the second day session.
