On 17 December 2020 a highlevel forum on urban development strategy of Tianjing Eco City (joint development between China and Singapore) has been held in Tianjin. In the wholeday’s forum, experts from China, Singapore and Europe have given presentations on smart city, eco city, resilient city and smart industry development. ..
On September 08-09, 2020, EC-Link Project organized the Europe-China Urban Green Development Forum as final forum of its long activity.
The Objective of this forum was to promote the EC-Link Project achievements from 2013 to 2020 and update the latest developments in the sector of Green Finance and Climate Resilient Cities in China and Europe.
Under the EC-LINK project, a research paper on Green Building in Summer hot and Winter Cold climate is carried out by European & Chinese experts. This is the first the join research paper which combines the European methodology and approaches and Chinese technology and best practises, written by Dr. Schwede (University of Stuttgart) and prof. Fengya and his colleagues (China Southwest Architectural Design and Research Institute).
This is the third pilot project of Resilient Zhuhai, organised by EC-Link project, carried out by Dutch expert team-Waternet & Palmbout Urban landscape. Together with Zhuhai Housing and Urban Rural Development Bureau, Zhuhai water Authority and Urban planning & Design Institute, EU experts and Chinese experts have applied resilient city development principals in Zhuhai in different areas.
City Wuhan is now carrying out a research on how city structure and its’ infrastructure react in such a situation, what’s the influence of our city patterns/urban density on spreading disease, how we can plan better in the future…. Examples of different countries on strategy and policy for against COVID-19 are collected for comparison. East & West Urban Consultancy is asked to work on the case of the Netherlands.

On 8 April 2019, a round table meeting has been taken place in the Hague to discuss how urbanisation processes and patterns might influence environmental improvement, in both China and elsewhere in the world. During these discussions, the Task Force on Green Urbanization and Environmental Improvement showed preliminary results from its Special Policy Studies (SPSs). International experts from China, the Netherlands, Germany, Austria and Belgium have presented their research findings and case studies and reflected on the SPSs preliminary results, from the perspective of Chinese urban development towards 2035 and the key forces shaping it.
